Librarian Dad (BA, MLIS,) reads a lot of current events, opinion and book reviews on a daily basis. He is a typical Dad who sometimes yells, but also hugs, plays, takes his kid swimming, cooks everyone breakfast, gives mum plenty of breaks, and loves to read books with his kid.
Carly Sutherland knew everything about parenting before she actually had kids. Now she spends a lot of time trying to figure out what exactly she's doing, but she does get a lot of sloppy kisses along the way. She blogs about the learning curve of parenthood at http://topfiveparenting.wordpress.com.

Most of us who have read the Harry Potter books know that the word “muggle” means a non-magical person. But “muggle” also has another meaning for those absorbed in another world – geocaching. If you’ve never been geocaching before or don’t have the foggiest notion what it is, you’re definitely a muggle. But fear not. It sounds like geocaching can also be quite magical, once you decide to give it a try.

Watching television has become a problem in my home. I don't mind my kids parking themselves in front of the tv in the morning. But once the day begins, the tv goes off. Problem is I often find myself running out of ways to play.

I first saw Julie Doiron in a tiny club in Hamilton, Ontario, when I was about 17. Julie played bass in a band called Eric's Trip, who were from Moncton, New Brunswick, and was probably only 3 or 4 years older than me. All Eric's Trip songs are very personal and deal with the lives of the members in the band, mostly Julie and Rick White, the main songwriters for the group. So, we all knew about her first son Benjamin through her music back when he was born 14 ½ years ago. She also has two daughters, Charlotte, who is 12, and Rosie, who is 7.

Father's Day is right around the corner, so we have a Papa Profile today. Our resident Papa Steve has been friends with Papa David for nearly 20 years. David and Fiona's daughter Robin is now in university, but David remembers the early years - both the challenges and the coping mechanisms - well. We asked him to share some tips on raising your wee ones.

On my son's first day of school, I waited at the bus drop off, bursting with questions. I was anxious to hear about the transition to grade one! Was his teacher nice? Any new friends?
