All the services on the website remain free and accessible to the general public in order to encourage as much participation and information sharing as possible. As an editorial policy, The Victoria Stroller does not receive money for the mention of any events, services, products or businesses which appear in the Calendar, Directory or Blog. Please do not use these tools to promote, either directly or indirectly, a business which is aimed at The Victoria Stroller market. Check out my page on advertising instead. Featured listings and events and banner and text ads are paid promotions which are clearly identified.
The Playtime Calendar is a valuable resource that strives to gather all the information on local free and low-cost drop-in programs for parents and caregivers of children from birth to six years. These are drop-in programs which require parent participation, and not drop-off childcare. The information for the calendar is gathered from websites or by contacting the organizers by phone. Service providers are encouraged to create an account whereby you can add, delete or modify your own Calendar listings, or please provide as much information on your website as possible. If you know of a good drop-in or if you have a regular playgroup that is open to newcomers, please feel free to list the event here.
The Blog allows parents to share information that is beneficial, interesting or convenient to other local parents with young children, by emailing their tips to the Editor. The information should be of a public nature and the contributor should not profit directly or indirectly by having the product, business or service mentioned. Please send your tips to

Anyone may leave comments in the Blog, but they may take a while to appear as they must be approved by an Administrator. The editorial policy is simply no ads, no profanity or abuse, and no behaviour inappropriate to the family nature of this website.
The Directory allows parents to share and locate information on kid-friendly spaces and amenities across Greater Victoria. Listings with the "Children Welcome" decal are results from the Early Years Community Appreciation Awards and provided by PLAY. You must register to add a listing, but you do not need to log in or register to vote or leave comments on listings. Honest and sometimes negative feedback is necessary, however, please bear in mind that the Directory was created in order to continue the work of the Early Years Community Appreciation Awards, which enabled parents to both identify and show appreciation for child-friendly businesses, parks and service providers in and around Greater Victoria. Your comments are helping Victoria to become more child-friendly!
Any person can register to add a listing and provide general descriptions and to help identify the amenities at that location, such as change table, high chair, nearest playground, bus route, etc. Please do not provide program dates in these listings; support this free directory service by using paid advertising to promote your current or upcoming offerings. Listings provided by PLAY and the Early Years Community Appreciation Awards may also also be claimed and modified, but the green "Children Welcome" decal should be retained as one of the images.
If the listing is a business, then the business owner has final claim on a listing. A business owner can also choose to remove their listing from the Directory.
The Family Events are provided courtesy of HarbourLiving.ca. By clicking on an event for more info, you are directed to the HarbourLiving.ca website. To add an event to the listing, you must register with Harbour Living and indicate that the event is for "Everyone," which will cause the event to appear on both websites for free.
